Terms of Use

These Terms apply to visitors, registered members, contributors, voters, schools, teams, athletes, sponsors, and anyone else who accesses or uses the Services. Additional terms may apply to particular features. If feature-specific terms conflict with these Terms, the feature-specific terms control for that feature.

The Services are not directed to children under 13. If you are under 13, do not create an account or provide personal information through the Services.

If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority where you live, you may use general account features only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Fan Vision submissions are subject to separate age and consent rules in our Fan Vision Submission Terms.

You must provide accurate information, keep your account information current, protect your credentials, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity occurring through your account unless prohibited by law.

You may not share credentials, impersonate another person, create accounts through automated means, or use another person’s account without authorization.

You agree not to:

• Break any law or violate another person’s rights;
• Harass, threaten, exploit, deceive, or endanger athletes, students, staff, users, or community members;
• Publish private or sensitive information without a lawful basis and appropriate permission;
• Upload malware, interfere with security, scrape the Services without permission, or attempt unauthorized access;
• Manipulate voting, engagement, rankings, or platform metrics through bots, scripts, duplicate accounts, or coordinated abuse;
• Use the Services to send spam, misleading promotions, or unauthorized commercial solicitations; or
• Encourage or assist anyone else in violating these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

The Services and their software, designs, graphics, logos, articles, broadcasts, videos, photography, databases, and other materials are owned by or licensed to State Champs and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Services for personal, lawful use. You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit State Champs content unless we or the applicable rights holder authorize it in writing.

You retain any ownership rights you have in content you submit. You must have the rights and permissions necessary to provide that content. You grant State Champs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and otherwise use the content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, promote, and improve the Services.

Public content may be copied, shared, indexed, or saved by others. We may remove, restrict, preserve, or decline to publish content when we believe doing so protects users, rights holders, platform integrity, or the public.

Videos, photos, captions, and other materials submitted through Fan Vision are also governed by the Fan Vision Submission Terms. Those terms include important eligibility, permission, publicity, editorial-use, and third-party-rights provisions.

Voting results may inform editorial or award decisions but do not guarantee selection, recognition, publication, or a prize. We may apply eligibility rules, audit or discard suspicious activity, correct errors, close voting, resolve ties, and protect the integrity of an award or promotion.

Specific contests, sweepstakes, promotions, or awards may have additional official rules that control over these Terms for that activity.

The Services may link to or embed third-party platforms such as video, social-media, sponsor, payment, analytics, or app distribution services. We do not control those services, and their own terms and privacy practices apply.

We may investigate reports and remove content, limit features, suspend or terminate accounts, invalidate activity, preserve relevant records, or contact appropriate authorities when we reasonably believe these Terms, another policy, the law, or platform safety has been violated.

You may report content through our content reporting form.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information. By using the Services, you acknowledge those practices.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, secure, accurate, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that user-submitted or third-party content is complete or reliable.

Sports schedules, scores, rankings, commitments, event details, and similar information may change. Verify time-sensitive information with the applicable school, team, association, or event organizer.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, State Champs and its owners, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the Services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid directly to us for the applicable Service during the preceding twelve months or one hundred dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless State Champs and its affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from your content, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of these Terms, applicable law, or another person’s rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, disputes relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought in state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Services after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
