Community Guidelines
Effective date: August 28, 2026
State Champs exists to celebrate high school sports, athletes, schools, teams, families, and fans. These Community Guidelines explain the standards we expect whenever people participate in State Champs! Sports Network services.
These Guidelines work with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Fan Vision Submission Terms.
1. Purpose and Scope
These Guidelines apply to profiles, comments, replies, reactions, Fan Vision submissions, photos, videos, captions, support interactions, reports, voting activity, and other participation in the Services.
Context matters. We may consider whether content is newsworthy, educational, documentary, satirical, or shared to condemn harmful conduct. That does not guarantee publication or continued availability.
2. Respect People and Communities
Competition and disagreement are part of sports. Personal attacks and abuse are not. Do not post or encourage:
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, humiliation, or repeated unwanted contact;
- Threats, intimidation, extortion, blackmail, or calls for others to target a person;
- Hateful or dehumanizing content based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or another protected characteristic;
- Slurs, degrading stereotypes, malicious rumors, or content intended primarily to shame an athlete, student, official, coach, staff member, family, or fan; or
- Impersonation or deceptive presentation of another person, school, team, organization, or State Champs.
Good-faith criticism of teams, performances, decisions, and public sports issues is allowed when expressed responsibly.
3. Protect Safety and Privacy
Do not expose or solicit private or sensitive information, including home addresses, private phone numbers, personal email addresses, passwords, student identifiers, private schedules, financial information, medical information, or precise real-time locations.
Be especially careful with information about minors. Do not use State Champs to groom, exploit, coerce, track, or arrange unsafe contact with a minor. Do not upload content from restricted spaces or events where recording is prohibited.
4. Sexual and Exploitative Content
Sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual solicitation, and any sexualized content involving a minor are prohibited. Do not request, create, share, link to, threaten to share, or joke about such material.
We may preserve and report apparent child sexual exploitation material or related conduct to the appropriate authorities as required or permitted by law.
5. Violence and Dangerous Activity
Do not threaten or glorify real-world violence, encourage self-harm, promote dangerous challenges, organize illegal activity, or share graphic content primarily to shock or traumatize others.
Sports footage showing ordinary competition or injury may be permitted when shared responsibly and without exploitative or graphic presentation.
6. Authenticity and Platform Integrity
Do not:
- Use bots, scripts, fake identities, or coordinated account networks to manipulate votes or engagement;
- Misrepresent altered, synthetic, or out-of-context media as an authentic event when that could materially mislead people;
- Spread knowingly false information that creates a meaningful risk to a person, event, school, team, or the public;
- Evade a suspension, restriction, vote limit, or other enforcement measure; or
- Probe, disrupt, scrape, or misuse the Services in a way that harms security, availability, or other users.
7. Ownership and Third-Party Rights
Share only content you created or are authorized to provide. Respect copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contractual, credentialing, and event-media rights. Do not upload pirated broadcasts, paywalled footage, stolen photography, or music you are not permitted to use.
Fan Vision contributors must also follow our Fan Vision Submission Terms.
8. Spam and Commercial Activity
Do not send repetitive or irrelevant messages, run scams, distribute malware, collect information through deceptive means, or promote unauthorized gambling, regulated goods, or commercial offers. Sponsorship and advertising activity must be authorized by State Champs and comply with applicable law.
9. Sportsmanship and Fair Participation
Do not use the Services to interfere with an event, intimidate officials or participants, falsely report scores or outcomes, organize vote manipulation, or undermine the fair operation of awards and community features.
10. Moderation and Enforcement
We may decline to publish, label, reduce visibility, restrict, remove, preserve, or refer content for additional review. We may warn users, invalidate votes or engagement, limit features, suspend or terminate accounts, and block repeat attempts to violate these Guidelines.
Enforcement decisions may consider severity, context, intent, history, risk, applicable law, and credible information available to us. We are not required to publish every report or explain every moderation action publicly.
11. Reporting and Urgent Concerns
Report to State Champs
Use our content reporting formto report content, accounts, privacy concerns, or rights issues. Provide the relevant URL and enough context for us to locate and assess the concern.
