Football Recruiting Notebook — Rutgers Bags Commitment From WB LB, KU Scoops Second A&T Star

Three of Metro Detroit’s best Class of 2024 football recruits committed to Division I colleges in recent days, two of them going to FBS schools

Montele Johnson (West Bloomfield 6-2, 220 LB)— Committed to Rutgers, Johnson is a value grab for the Scarlet Knights. Johnson is a relentless, versatile and athletic specimen of a sideline to sideline sensation who is rated a 3-star prospect by most scouting services, but in reality has unquestionable 4-star talent and an NFL upside.

Jalen Todd (Southfield A&T 6-0, 175 CB) — Committed to Kansas, Todd is a jitterbug cover corner just scratching the surface on his skill set and what his ceiling can be. He joins his A&T teammate, upper-echelon 3-star quarterback Isaiah “Zeke” Marshall as a Jayhawks commit for the Class of ’24.

Owen McGraw (Garden City 5-10, 175 WR/SB) — Committed to Eastern Michigan, McGraw is the definition of a Supersonic Sleeper Special in the Midwest recruiting world. Think GC’s own version of incoming University of Michigan fab frosh Cole Cabana (Dexter).
