Football Recruiting Notebook — Michigan Snags Howell 4-Star DL Bobby Kanka For Class of ’25

Here comes the boom to Ann Arbor. As in Howell junior defensive lineman Bobby Kanka.

Kanka (6-6, 265), one of the most versatile playmakers in the state on defense, committed to the University of Michigan this week. He’s considered a consensus 4-star prospect in the Class of 2025 and can play tackle or defensive end. Last fall, he netted 41 tackles and 5 sacks. Besides the Maize&Blue, Kanka held offers from Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, Louisville, Syracuse and Minnesota.

Other college commitments of note;

Willie Powell (Harper Woods 6-2, 210 LB) — Committed to Air Force, Powell is maybe the most underrated linebacker prospect in the state. He’s got speed, length and tons of bone-cracking closing power. In 2022. he posted 98 tackles and 4 sacks.

Caden Campbell (Warren De La Salle 6-3, 235 TE)— Committed to Bowling Green, Campbell is a prototype new-era tight end and a true diamond in the ruff from the defending state champs.

Cody Raymond (Utica Eisenhower 6-4, 215 LB) — Committed to Lafayette, Raymond is freak of nature of an athlete, a straight menace tracking down ball carriers and causing major disruptions in pass coverage.

Billy Roberson (Lake Orion 6-0, 195 RB) — Committed to Howard, Roberson is the top returning tailback in the OAA Red, displaying wheels, work ethic and tremendous field vision on his runs. Last season, he rushed for 1,275 yards and 15 touchdowns.
