Macomb, Mich., July 2, 2025 — The State Champs! Sports Network, in partnership with Verizon Business, proudly announces Luke Demasse of Macomb Dakota High School as the Michigan 2025 High School Baseball Player of the Year.

Demasse’s remarkable performance, both at the plate and on the mound, earned him this prestigious award and solidified his reputation as one of the state’s most outstanding high school athletes.

At the plate, he recorded an impressive batting average of .361 with an on-base percentage of .443. On the mound, he had a stellar 0.325 ERA, allowing only 3 earned runs, and striking out 80 over 64 innings pitched.

Demasse saved his biggest performances for the biggest games.

His ability to dominate under pressure was evident in his standout performances during the playoffs, highlighted by a complete game shutout against Brother Rice in the regional final and another in the state semifinal against Bay City Western.

Committed to Ball State University, Demasse has shown both leadership and sportsmanship, contributing significantly to Macomb Dakota’s success this season. His dedication and passion for the sport are matched by his academic commitment, promising a bright future both on and off the field.
