MHSAA state-football champion, Muskegon offensive lineman, N’Kye Wynn committed to Rutgers this week following a frantic recruiting rush of colleges trying to lock down his services on the heels of Wynn’s standout junior campaign for the Big Reds in the Trenches.
Muskegon is the defending state champs in Division 2, upending Warren De La Salle 33-21 in the state finals at Ford Field last November. As a sophomore, Wynn’s Muskegon squad lost in the state championship game to Detroit King in the D3 title tilt.
Wynn (6-6, 285) picked Rutgers as his college destination on the gridiron just three days removed from visiting Rutgers’ campus in New Jersey. He chose the Scarlet Knights over more than two dozen offers, including bids from Michigan State, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Iowa State, Boston College, Kansas, Pittsburgh.
