This past week, a pair of the top two incoming senior hoopsters in Metro Detroit have decided to leave the state of Michigan and take the prep-school route in the fall.
Detroit King point guard Chas Lewless recently announced he will be attending Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas and Macomb Dakota big fella Nate Washburn posted on his social media accounts he will be enrolling at PHH Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.
Lewless (6-2) is committed to San Diego for his college ball and dotted the stat sheet for 15 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds a game as a junior in the PSL at King. He played his first two years as a prepster in the Catholic League for Detroit Catholic Central.
Washburn (6-8) was expected to be the No. 1 post player in the Macomb Athletic Conference in 2024, Last winter, he averaged 16 points and 8 boards a night.
