Gold Standard Has A Tint Of Orange – OU’s Kamoe Collects Commitment From BR Workhorse Marshall

OU just locked down a dogged competitor with smooth-operator moves on the basketball court for the Grizzlies Den. The O’rena will be a rocking the second Mr. G-Funk Era himself hits the floor next year.

Birmingham Brother Rice senior wing Warren Marshall committed to Oakland University this week, providing Golden Grizz sideline general Greg Kampe a sleeper Mr. Basketball candidate for his Class of ’24. His G-Funk hooping style is contagious to his teammates. In other words, he makes everyone around him better.

Marshall (6-4) emerged as the Warriors’ top playmaker late last season for a Brother Rice club featuring a trio of senior Division I signees that ended the regular season as the No. 1 overall team in the state. His hops, efficiency and deadeye shooting stroke set him apart from the pack, as does his motor.

Last winter, Marshall averaged 11 points and 5 rebounds per game. He will captain Big Orange Nation in the upcoming season and mentor what’s shaping up to be an elite sophomore crop.

“Warren Marshall is everything I want the Brother Rice basketball program to be,” Warriors head coach Rick Palmer said. “Nothing was ever given to him. He has worked and earned everything he’s got right now. He’s a tireless competitor whose career in this game is just getting started.”
