Onstead senior big fella Ayden Davis (6-10 C) committed to Wright State and Zeeland West senior wing/stretch-4 Merritt Alderink (6-7 F) committed to Indiana State last week, pulling two of the MHSAA’s top Class of ’24 hoopsters off the recruiting board.

Davis averaged 23 points and 13 rebounds per night last winter for an 18-5 club that bagged a league championship.

Alderink chose ISU over offers from Oakland, Toledo, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan. He fired in 19 points per game and hauled down 7 rebounds a contest for a 17-7 club as a junior in ’23. Taking in the sights in Spartansville

Wayne Memorial sophomore guards Carlos Medlock, Jrand Jaylohn Allen took a visit to Michigan State last week. Medlock, Jr. and Allen form one of the most dangerous 1-2 punches in the state’s whole Class of ’26. The pair compliment each other’s talents on the hardwood, with Medlock, Jr. bringing the fire as a fearsome floor general and Allen brining the ice as a smooth, coldblooded wing guard. Cleveland State was the first school to offer Medlock. Jr. a scholarship before his freshman season.
