SOUTHFIELD - Lawrence Marshall got a little ahead of himself last week.
The junior Southfield football star hastily committed to Ohio State last weekend, before changing his mind and de-committing this past Thursday.
Marshall, a fast and ferocious defensive end, is considered one of the top five recruits in the state’s Class of 2014.
Last season, he recorded 105 tackles and six sacks.
This coming weekend, Marshall is scheduled to make a visit to Michigan State University.
Last week, he attended the MSU-Michigan men’s basketball game in East Lansing and was serenaded by the Spartans' student section with a chanting of his name during a timeout. Then, the next day he made his way to Ann Arbor and visited with the Wolverines.
Following his visits to East Lansing and Ann Arbor, respectively, Marshall announced he was de-committing from the Buckeyes, who he pledged his allegiance to the weekend before that on a visit down to Columbus.
Currently, the 6-foot-5, 235-pound pass-rush specialist on the edge has offers from more than a dozen big-time Division I college programs.
He has stated that his favorites remain Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State.
