The following is a ranking of divisions, if there are more than one within a league or conference. Leagues, such as the Downriver League, is taken as a whole. Rankings are based on the strength of the divisons with an emphasis on the top three or four.

  1. Catholic League Central Division: Brother Rice moved into the top spot in the rankings and Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, at 5-1, is one of the top contenders for the Division 3 title.

Warren De La Salle lost some tough games and needs to win out to make the playoffs.

  2. Oakland Activities Association Red Division: The play of Clarkston (6-0) is no surprise but both Oxford (5-1) and West Bloomfield (5-1) have made the top half of this division complete. At 3-3, both Lake Orion and Rochester Hills Stoney Creek have outside chances at making the playoffs.

  3. Ottawa-Kent Conference White Division: This division has picked up a number of big wins in recent weeks notably Caledonia’s 42-0 victory over Rockford, East Grand Rapids’ 34-28 victory over Grandville and Grand Rapids Christian’s 35-34 victory over Hudsonville.

  4. Ottawa-Kent Conference Red Division: This division has shown more balance than in recent years as no one teams stands but it appears four of the six - Rockford, Holland West Ottawa, Hudsonville and East Kentwood – will made the playoffs.

  5. Macomb Area Conference Red Division: Macomb Dakota (5-1) has played well but hasn’t peaked. The thing with this division is all six teams have a shot at the playoffs entering the final three games.

  6. Kensington Lakes Activities Association North Division: Walled Lake Central and Walled Lake Western are the class of this division but the emergence of the two Waterford schools, Kettering and Mott, could give this division four teams in the playoffs.

  7. Detroit Public School League: Detroit Cass Tech and Detroit King continue their dominance but East English Village Prep has shown it belongs on the same field with both. Detroit Mumford is next with Detroit Renaissance and Detroit Denby not far behind.

  8. Oakland Activities Association White Division: What separates this division and the PSL is Cass Tech’s 27-26 victory over Oak Park. Farmington Hills Harrison is on equal terms with King and Southfield is a tad better than East English.

  9. Kensington Lakes Activities Association South Division: Canton and Livonia Churchill are top 25 teams. Plymouth will likely make the playoffs and Westland John Glenn has an outside shot at getting in.

  10. Kensington Lakes Activities Association West Division: Good balance here. Howell, the fourth place team, beat Hartland (5-1) and nearly beat Monroe, the second place team in the SEC Red Division. Grand Blanc and Hartland will contend for first place.
