Burney picks eight Indy-Area X-Factors to watch out for in boys b-ball regionals later this week:

(In alphabetical order)

[CLICK HERE for full regional pairings.]

Jayden Brewer (Avon Soph. F) — Thoroughbred on the wing just starting to come into his own on the hardwood, about to be a superstar.

Jeff Clayton (Ben Davis Sr. F) — Knows how to be in the right spot at the right time, makes the most of his touches, kills opponents softly.

Dawson Eastes (New Palestine Jr. G) — Great combo of leather and lace, a grinder with a buttery-soft shooting touch from downtown.

Wes Jordan (Lawrence Central Sr. F/C) — Calling my shot: This underappreciated workhorse in the paint has a Big Dance double-double in his near future … I’m just saying.

Sincere McMahon (Crispus Attucks Jr. G) — Motor and moxie out of the backcourt by the boatload.

Spencer Piercefield (Center Grove Sr. G) — Pure sugar shooting the rock from deep, one of the top snipers in Hoosierland.

Anthony Scales (Zionsville Jr. F) — The ultimate “glue guy,” a grip-it and rip-it type at the small forward spot who can finish at the rim and give you nails-tough ‘D.'

Pete Suder (Carmel Fr. G/F) — Probably the most underrated diaper dandy in his class, can slice and dice slashing through the lane, pretty form on his ‘J.'
