Andrean’s Michael Doolin has been selected as the Gatorade Indiana Baseball Player of the Year the company announced on Thursday.

The senior, who is signed with Vanderbilt, is a pitcher and infielder for the Fighting 59ers (19-2 at the time of Doolin’s selection). A 2019 Perfect Game Preseason Second Team All-American and the 2018 NWI Times Co-Player of the Year, Doolin was 7-0 with a 0.20 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 35 innings, holding hitters to a .115 average through 21 games. He was hitting .490 with four home runs, 27 RBI and a gaudy .603 on-base percentage.

Doolin helped lead Andrean to the 3A IHSAA state title last season, beating Silver Creek, 6-1, in the championship game.
