BASKETBALL: Western Michigan lands Detroit Henry Ford sharp shooter Josh DavisBasketball  |
DETROIT - Western Michigan basketball got a commitment today from senior shooting guard, Josh Davis, of Detroit. The 6-5 sharp shooter plays at Detroit Henry Ford, and decided to stay close to home, and be a Bronco.
Davis had offers from schools like Detroit, Eastern Michigan, Rhode Island, Western Kentucky, and more, but said Western Michigan felt like home. He also told me that the Broncos wanted him more than any other school, and they he'd probably be able to getting some early playing time as a freshman.
The Broncos are getting a player who can play on the wing, or as a shooting guard, with his size and skill set. But most importantly, they will be getting a low-maintenance player, who is a stud in the classroom as well.
Davis averaged 17 points, and seven rebounds as a junior last year for the Trojans, and should be able to repeat, or better those numbers this season. The Trojans will most certainly compete for the Detroit Public School League title, and Davis is my pick to win the Mr.PSL award.
