Greg Elliott commits to Marquette

Detroit – Greg Elliott, a Mr. Basketball finalist from Detroit East English Village Prep, committed to Marquette on Tuesday.

East English coach Juan Rickman confirmed that Elliott made his decision public early on Tuesday.

Elliott is a 6-3 wing who led the Bulldogs to the Detroit Public School League title as a junior. East English lost in the PSL semifinals this season. The 2016 PSL title was the program’s first.

Elliott averaged 23 points, six rebounds and four assists this season.

He also received a scholarship offers from Michigan State, Providence and Temple, among others.

Elliott will join fellow Detroiters Ike Eke of U-D Jesuit and Mr. Basketball candidate Jamal Cain of Detroit Cornerstone at Marquette. Eke and Cain signed in November.

Elliott was named by State Champs as the state’s top junior following the 2015-16 season.
