On Wednesday evening, Detroit Cass Tech 2015 running back Mike Weber announced on Twitter that he is committing to Ohio State University.
“Blessed to say I have officially committed to THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY #GoBucks #BuckeyeNation,” tweeted Weber on Wednesday.
On November 22nd, Weber announced on twitter that he was decommitting from the University of Michigan after Cass Tech lost in the Division 1 football semifinal at the hands of Saline.
Weber chose the Buckeyes after weighing offers from a number of Division 1 schools, including Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Southern California, Nebraska, Wisconsin along with several other schools.
Weber, a 5-foot-10, 205 pound running back is considered a 4-star prospect according to Rivals.com and Scout.com, rushed for 2,268 yards and 29 touchdowns for the Technicians in 2014.
After decommitting from Michigan back in November, Weber said on Twitter that he would make his announcement at the Army All-American Bowl which is scheduled for January 3rd in San Antonio.
Weber is the third Cass Tech football player to commit to the Buckeyes in the past two years as he will be joining teammate and defensive tackle, Josh Alabi, who is another member of Ohio State’s recruiting class as well as former Cass Tech defensive back Damon Webb, who is currently a freshman for the Buckeyes.Tweet
