On Monday, Birmingham Brother Rice wide receiver Grant Perry made the announcement on twitter that he has given his verbal commitment to play for Northwestern University next fall.

“I have officially committed to Northwestern University! #GoCats #Wildcats,” tweeted Perry.

As a senior this fall, Perry rewrote the record books from the wide receiver position as he finished the 2014 season with 105 receptions and 1,721 yards receiving as the top target for Alex Malzone and the Brother Rice offense.

Perry’s 105 receptions are the most in a single season in MHSAA history.

Perry, a 3-star receiver according to Rivals.com, chose Northwestern after receiving offers from Nevada, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan and several other offers from MAC schools.

Perry played a key role in Brother Rice’s 33-game winning streak, as well as its Division 2 state championships in 2012 and 2013.
