Ann Arbor Skyline Five-Star Linebacker Daelin Hayes commits to Notre DameFootball  |
On Thursday afternoon, Ann Arbor Skyline linebacker Daelin Hayes announced that he is committed to play at Notre Dame beginning next fall.
Hayes was originally committed to Southern California, but decommitted from the school shortly after head coach Steve Sarkisian was fired.
The star linebacker is considered a five-star recruit and had been strongly considering Ohio State and Michigan State before choosing the Fighting Irish.
Hayes also received offers from Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan, Tennessee and UCLA along with several other high level Division 1 offers.
The highly sought-after recruit had previously played at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s before moving out to California and played at St. Bonaventure high school in his junior season, but moved back to Michigan midway through his junior year and played for Skyline in his senior season.
Hayes is the third football player from the state of Michigan to commit to Notre Dame in the 2016 class, joining Walled Lake Central’s Ade Ogundeji and Farmington Hill Harrison’s Khalid Kareem.
Hayes is expected to enroll in school at Notre Dame in January.
