1. Cass Tech

After weather forced the Technicians to play on Sunday, Cass Tech still delivered an impressive performance in a win over Oak Park and now enter the easier stretch of their schedule beginning this week.

2. Detroit King

The defending Division 2 State Champs aren’t going anywhere in 2016, and Saturday’s 39-0 win over Southfield A&T have the Crusaders at No. 2 in this week’s rankings.

3. Macomb Dakota

A gutty season opening win over St. Mary’s, the Cougars look like a legitimate contender in Division 1. Dakota will have another big test in week two against Eisenhower.

4. Muskegon

It doesn’t get much more impressive than Muskegon’s week one win over Ann Arbor Pioneer. With both Kalil Pimpleton and Ladarius Jefferson running the show on offense, the Big Reds offense is going to be more than dangerous all season long.

5. Detroit Catholic Central

A statement win over Sterling Heights Stevenson in week one, the Shamrocks will have a tough test on Friday night as they head to Ohio to face Toledo Whitmer.

6. Clarkston

Led by its rushing attack, Clarkston opened up the 2016 season with an impressive win over Lapeer at the Big House in Ann Arbor. Clarkston’s schedule doesn’t get any easier this week with Southfield A&T looking to bounce back from its week one loss.

7. Hudsonville

It was a strong start to the season for Hudsonville, beating Grand Ledge 21-14, who played in last year’s Division 1 semifinals. The Eagles will travel to Holt next week, before two tough games against East Kentwood and Grandville in week three and four.

8. Walled Lake Western

After a blowout win in week one over Farmington with the help of Cody White’s impressive performance at quarterback, the Warriors will have a bigger test in week two against Canton.

9. Utica Eisenhower

An impressive defensive performance in a season opening win over Plymouth, Eisenhower will have a tall task in trying to slow down the Dakota offense on Thursday night.

10. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s

Despite a tough loss to Dakota in week one, the Eaglets remain in the top 10, but have a very tough schedule coming up in the next few weeks after week two.
