1. Cody White – Walled Lake Western

White remains in the top spot, but the gap between No. 1 and No. 2 is beginning to narrow. White made two clutch interceptions in the closing minutes of Western’s win over Lakeland on Friday night and continues to show that he really can do it all, regardless of where he lines up on the field.

2. Kalil Pimpleton – Muskegon

Is there anything that Pimpleton can’t do? Once again on Friday night, Pimpleton did it all for the Big Reds, rushing for 150 yards and tallied three touchdowns, one rushing, one passing and another on a punt return. Pimpleton is ranked number two this week, but he is closing in on the top spot.

3. Donovan Peoples-Jones – Detroit Cass Tech

In the PSL semifinal against Pershing, Peoples-Jones did it all for the Technicians, returning to punts for touchdowns, notching one receiving touchdown and even through for another score in ONE HALF. Peoples-Jones is the most talented player in the state of Michigan and is setting up for a big time showing in the state playoffs.

4. Tariq Reid – Davison

Reid has been simply unstoppable in the 2016 season coming out of the backfield for Davison, rushing for over 1,500 yards and 28 touchdowns in just eight weeks of the season. In Week 8, Reid rushed for 226 yards and four touchdowns to help lead the way to a win over Bay City Western as Davison clinched the Saginaw Valley League Blue title on Friday night.

5. Ambry Thomas – Detroit King

Thomas is a difference maker in all three phases of the game, offense, defense and special teams and is a big reason why the Crusaders are once again one of the favorites to win the Division 2 state championship. In last week’s win over East English Village, Thomas returned a punt 86 yards for a touchdown to help lead King back to the PSL title game as the Crusaders look for a second straight PSL Championship.
