1.Cody White – Walled Lake Western

Still the leading vote getter in the Mr. Football Award Contest, White had three grabs for 82 yards in last week’s win over Kettering for the Warriors and still remains the leader in my latest power rankings.

2. Kalil Pimpleton – Muskegon

Pimpleton can simply beat teams in every way imaginable, throwing, running and catching the ball on offense and he is a nightmare on special teams as well. Last week’s blowout win over Reeths-Puffer saw Pimpleton score four total touchdowns on the night and accounted for 74 yards on just five carries.

3. Hamze Elzayat – Dearborn Fordson

Fordson has played extremely well all season long and Elzayat is a big reason why because of his ability to make plays with his legs and his arm. In last week’s win over Redford Thurston, Elzayat again had over 250 yards of total offense (73 passing, 183 rushing) and three total touchdowns.

4. Donovan Peoples-Jones – Detroit Cass Tech

While Peoples-Jones didn’t record a catch in Saturday’s dominating win over East English Village Prep, he did make his presence felt as he recorded an interception returned for a 64-yard touchdown.

5. Ambry Thomas – Detroit King

One of the state’s most versatile and electrifying players, Thomas can be a nightmare for opposing teams in multiple ways, whether it’s on offense as a receiver, defense as a defensive backs or returning punts and kicks on special teams, it’s almost impossible to stop Thomas in every phase of the game.
