OLSM's Hamler heads to FloridaFootball  |
After spending his first three seasons at Orchard Lake St. Mary's, 4-star wide receiver K.J. Hamler announced today that he would be leaving St. Mary's and the state of Michigan and head to Florida, where he will play for IMG Academy.
"After a long talk with my family and with great thought and consideration, I have decided not to continue my senior year at Orchard Lake St. Mary's," Hamler wrote in a post on Twitter. "I will be finishing my senior year at IMG Academy in Florida. I would like to thank St. Mary's and the coaches for the three years I have had with them. I appreciate everyone who has supported my last three years at OLAKE, and the brotherhood I gained. But this is a opportunity that I feel is best for me at this time and I hope my brothely bond continues as I begin my new journey. Please respect my decision and thank you."
Hamler helped lead the Eaglets to two straight MHSAA Division 3 state titles in his sophomore and junior seasons, but now St. Mary's will be in search of a new No. 1 receiver to lead the passing attack next fall.
Hamler currently holds offers from Michigan State, Oregon, Penn State, Nebraska, Wisconsin and several other Division 1 schools entering his senior season.Tweet
