First we learned that one of the state’s top wide receivers, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s KJ Hamler, would be leaving Michigan to go and play for IMG Academy in Florida.

Now, a couple of months later, and less than a month before teams across the state begin football practice, another player from Michigan is heading to IMG Academy.

One of the best incoming junior offensive linemen in the state, Muskegon’s Antwan Reed, is reportedly heading to Florida according to Scout.com’s Allen Trieu.

A perennial state championship contender in Division 2 each year, Muskegon is now left with big shoes to fill along its offensive line as the Big Reds are preparing for the 2016 season.

Regarded as a 3-star prospect according to Scout.com, Reed is listed at 6-foot-7 and has received offers from several top Division 1 schools, including Michigan, Michigan State, Florida, Arkansas and Tennessee.

The Big Reds are still set up to be in contention for the D-2 title this fall with quarterback Kalil Pimpleton (Virginia Tech) returning along with several other key playmakers from last year’s team.
