Just two games into the season, but the Yellowjackets already have a statement win, with a convincing 19-point win over Wayne Memorial back on December 3rd.

2. Ypsilanti Arbor Prep (4-0)

3. Canton (3-0)

The Chiefs had one of the tougher schedules to open the season and earned an impressive upset win over Birmingham Marian in Canton’s first game of the season. With wins over Cass Tech and Ann Arbor Huron along with the win over Marian, Canton proved it is a legitimate contender in Class A.

4. Detroit King (2-0)

5. Macomb Dakota (3-0)

The Eagles are just two games into the season, but have beaten their opponents by a combined 67 points so far and look like a force to be reckoned with in the KLAA. Hartland opens up KLAA play on Tuesday night and look to be the favorites, along with Howell, in the KLAA West.

7. Farmington Hills Mercy (2-1)

The Marlins stated their case to be a top 10 team in Metro Detroit with a strong start to the season. Even with a narrow loss to No. 3 ranked Port Huron Northern, Mercy rebounded with a one point win over Marian on Friday night.

8. Howell (3-0)

The Highlanders opened the 2016-2017 with a bit of an upset with a win over St. Johns and with wins over Bath and Livonia Stevenson, Howell has broken into the top 10 rankings. Look for the January 17th game against Hartland to possibly decide the KLAA West.

9. Warren Cousino (2-1)

The Patriots dropped their season opener to Marian, but bounced back with two blowout wins and have a showdown coming up with Dakota coming up on December 21st.

10. Birmingham Marian (2-2)

Two tough losses in their first four games, but also two quality wins over Cousino and Waterford Kettering and may not lose another game leading up to the rematch with Mercy on January 17th.
