East English Village's Greg Elliot lands Marquette offer after impressive startBasketball  |
Detroit East English Village Prep’s Greg Elliot has established himself as the best pure scorer in the state of Michigan early on in the 2016-2017 season and now, major Division 1 programs are starting to take notice.
Elliot already held offers from smaller Division 1 schools entering his senior season, including offers from Depaul, Detroit and Toledo, but landed his first major Division 1 offer from Marquette on Monday.
Elliot has helped lead the Bulldogs to a 5-0 start on the 2016 and already has two 40-point performances under his belt this season, scoring 45 points in a season opening win over Flint Beecher and 48 in a win over Pershing.
With his two 40-point efforts to begin the season and four 30-point performances as well, Elliot has not only emerged as an early season candidate for the Mr. Basketball award, but possibly the top candidate for the award as we begin 2017.
Marquette has already received commitments from two of the state’s top players in Detroit Cornerstone’s Jamal Cain and Detroit U-D Jesuit’s Ike Eke and if the Golden Eagles are able to land Elliot, it would give them arguably the top three players from Detroit in the 2017 recruiting class.Tweet
