Since the middle of the month of June, one name that has made plenty of noise is Macomb Dakota junior power forward Thomas Kithier.
Kithier, who stands at 6-foot-8, picked up offers from the University of Milwaukee and DePaul on June 15th, before landing an offer from Michigan State and Duquesne on June 18th. Then, on July 5th, Kithier picked up his eighth offer of the recruiting process, from Rice.
In 2015, Kithier received offers from Oakland and Detroit Mercy, before being offered by Toledo back in February.
Throughout his sophomore season, Kithier continued to develop into one of the state’s top front court players in the class of 2018 as he helped lead Dakota to the Class A Boys Basketball semifinals this past season, where he tallied 12 points and nine rebounds in a loss to eventual state champion Detroit U-D Jesuit.
Going into next season, Dakota should be considered as one of the favorites to return to the Breslin Center as the Cougars not only return their 6-8 power forward, but also return one of the state’s top point guards, Jermaine Jackson Jr., along with a handful of other key contributors from last year’s team.
