Detroit Cass Tech junior football star Zach Morton is a diverse talent on the gridiron. He can excel whether lining up at outside linebacker or defensive end. In college, he’ll be wearing orange.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect committed to Syracuse this week. Morton, considered a 3-star recruit, chose the Orange over other power-conference offers from Iowa State and Cincinnati. Last season, he registered 66 tackles and five sacks on a Technicians club that appeared in the Division 1 state championship game.

Syracuse bagged Cass Tech senior linebacker Timmy Walton back on Signing Day in February, following Walton’s de-commitment from Illinois. Walton and Morton could be the Motor City Connection headlining the Orange’s linebacker corps of the future. It wouldn’t surprise Burney a bit!
