Filling You In With The Football 411 - What's The Latest On The Recruiting Trail

A few football recruiting quick hitters from around the state:

BACK ON THE BOARD: Birmingham Brother Rice tight end Carter Dunaway de-committed from Michigan last week. Dunaway had been the Wolverines first grab for its Class of 2017 recruiting crop two years ago. His brother Jack is a Rice alum and defensive end at UofM right now and his dad Craig played for the Maize & Blue in the 1980s and then in the NFL.

SEC CATTLE CALL: Southfield A&T junior wide receiver Brandon Gray and Detroit Cass Tech junior safety DeAndre Square both snagged SEC offers this week, Gray picking up an offer from Arkansas and Square scooping a bid from LSU. The Razorbacks are Gray’s first SEC offer while Square, one of the hottest prospects in the state on the defensive side of the pigskin, already had one from Kentucky.

THE TRAVEL ITINERARY: Some of the best gridders on the westside of the state are in travel mode this month – East Kentwood sophomore defensive linemanLogan Brown visited Notre Dame this past weekend. Rockford junior quarterback Jason Whitaker visited Indiana. Muskegon senior linebacker Andrew Ward is headed to Nebraska for a visit this weekend
