The Drive For Five – Week 5 Mr. Football Award Power RankingsFootball  |
Please Note: These rankings do not represent or affect the current Mr. Football Award Race. These rankings are only my opinion.
1. Cody White – Walled Lake Western
White returned to his natural position, wide receiver, on Friday night with the return of quarterback John Tracy and White didn’t miss a beat, grabbing seven catches for 139 yards and two scores in a blowout win over Walled Lake Central.
2. Donovan Peoples-Jones – Detroit Cass Tech
The Technicians continued their streak of blowout wins with a win over Southeastern in Week 4. Peoples-Jones’ talent remains unquestioned, but he still hasn’t quite been needed to have a big game since Cass Tech's week one win over Oak Park
3. Kalil Pimpleton – Muskegon
Another day, another monster game for Pimpleton on Friday night. Pimpleton carried the ball 15 times for 175 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-14 win over Byron Center.
4. Hamze Elzayat – Dearborn Fordson
Elzayat threw for 150 yards and rushed for 80 yards along with three touchdowns as Fordson topped Garden City to improve to 4-0 on the season as Elzayat continues to impress this season.
5. Tariq Reid – Davison
The newest member of the Mr. Football Top 10, Reid is an explosive running back and has shown just that early on in the season, rushing for almost 700 yards through the first three weeks of the 2016 seasonTweet
