Farmington Hills Mercy  | 3B / Catcher

A four-year starter at third base, Sobczak committed to Michigan during her sophomore year. She batted .613 last season with nine home runs and Sobczak had 36 walks, most were intentional. She had 17 home runs her sophomore season. She signed with U-M last November. Entering the district semifinals Sobczak is batting .424 (28-66) with five doubles, four triples, five home runs, 31 RBI and 48 runs. In 105 plate appearances Sobczak has 33 walks, 15 intentional. She has struck out just six times and has a .993 fielding percentage.

Rachel Vieira

Clarkston  | Shortstop

Vieira was selected all-state the past two seasons. Last season she hit .500 with six home runs and 44 RBI. Vieira is not tall (5-foot-4) but she hits third in the lineup to make use of her power. This season through 38 games Vieira is batting .613 with 54 runs, 17 doubles, nine home runs and 66 RBI. Clarkston ended the regular season 36-2. Vieira signed with Central Michigan.

Utica Ford  | Outfielder

A left-hand hitter, Sorgi bats leadoff. A four-year starter in softball and basketball, Sorgi signed with Bowling Green. Sorgi owns school records for stolen bases in a season (53) and a career (138). Last season she batted .382 with 42 runs scored. This season through 36 games Sorgi is batting .438 (57-130) with 19 doubles, 38 runs, 28 RBI and she’s stolen 44 bases in 47 attempts. She has not committed an error this season and is 4-3 on the mound with a 2.78 ERA.

Brooke Wyman

Portage Central  | Shortstop / Pitcher

Wyman will be Central’s No. 1 pitcher this season but look for her to play shortstop in college. She signed with Western Michigan. Last season she hit .395. This season, hitting third in the lineup, Wyman is batting .491 with 42 runs, 54 RBI and five home runs with an on-base percentage of .521. On the mound Wyman is 15-2 with a 1.91 ERA. In 99 innings she has struck out 106 and walked 17.
