Michigan High School Hockey Player of the Year Contest 2019!

Thanks to our great friends at National Coney Island for sponsoring the 2019 Michigan High School Hockey Player of the Year Contest!

Voting for the 2019 Michigan High School Hockey Player of the Year contest - sponsored by National Coney Island – is ON!!!

To vote, simply select the candidate that you believe is having the best year in Michigan High School Hockey, enter your email address, and cast your vote!!

A confirmation email will be sent to you with a link to cast your vote - please note that your vote will not be counted until you click the link emailed to you!  By voting in the contest and supplying your email, you agree to allow State Champs! Network and its affiliates to update you via email about news, sports events and special offers.

Unlike other state-wide awards, this is the only one that allows the Michigan fans to weigh in! However, winning the popular vote does not make you the contest winner - the winner of the online vote is automatically entered into the Final 4, and their chances of winning is increased by 20%.

The criteria that will be used to select the 2018 HS Hockey Player of the Year will be:

30% -  Performance Throughout Season
20% -  Level of Competition
20% -  Online Vote
15% -  Big Game Performance
10% -  Team Success
 5% -   Highly Recruited Athlete

Throughout the season, our media analysts will be monitoring performance, updating player statistics and adding new candidates into the contest as their actual play and performance merits, with a goal of keeping the ten best hockey players on the board. Toward the end of the contest, we will close online voting and select our Final 4 candidates.  The final award selection and presentation will take place in March with our good friends at National Coney Island!!

Please check out the State Champs! High School Sports show every Sunday morning at 9am on Fox Sports Detroit for the latest updates on the contest!

And finally, while you are totally enjoying the Winter  Sports Season - don't forget to grab a few friends and head to one of National Coney Island's 20 great restaurants across SE Michigan!
